Who we are

The Maldon Neighbourhood Centre was incorporated in February 1986 and has since been an important resource for our town. We offer a variety of facilities and services, including:

Learn Local Courses
These are pre-accredited courses subsidised by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. They are vocational courses that might help you start on a new career or study path.

Fee for Service Courses
These are ‘hobby-style’ courses designed to enhance your lifestyle. Topics can include art, languages, games such as bridge or chess, and others.

Occasional Childcare
We offer occasional childcare from 9.30am to 2.30pm every Monday of the school term.

Affordable meeting space for community groups and exercise classes.

With a small meeting/class room and a large hall available, we are pleased to provide support to local community groups by providing facilities at an affordable rate.

Community Garden is a space for all the community to use and enjoy. We welcome all volunteers to join us at our regular Working Bees

We provide a friendly space for you to drop in and have a quiet cuppa or meet friends before or after a class.

Computers
There are laptops and wi-fi available for use on site during opening hours – no bookings are required and usage is free. We provide simple technological support for computer users.

Maldon Market
We run the Maldon Market which is held on the 2nd Sunday of the month on Fountain St, opposite the Shire Gardens. From soap to soup, fruit to furniture, plants to pants, jewellery to jumpers, the Maldon Market has something for everyone.

Community Bus
We run a regular transport service to Castlemaine and back, as well as to Maryborough and Kangaroo Flat, with the Baringhup-Maldon Community Bus. The bus is also used for day trips (open to everyone) and can be chartered privately. See here for details.
